Mary Carroll Dodd

E-RYT 200

Mary Carroll is a North Carolina native who grew up spending summers in Black Mountain visiting her family. She began practicing yoga in 2005, and fell in love with this ancient practice while teaching high school in Charlotte. Yoga became a way to focus inward and strengthen her mind and body in order to become a better educator. She wanted to combine her vocation of teaching with yoga, so she completed her 200 hour teacher training in 2013 at Asheville Yoga Center, as well as Prenatal Yoga training in 2015. She started teaching yoga in Black Mountain in 2015. Mary Carroll combines many different methods of yoga and encourages you to explore what feels best in your body.

Mary Carroll provides many different options in each of her classes to make them both accessible and challenging for mind, body, and spirit. She is also passionate about building community and helping students find their place on their mat and in the world. She teaches in school settings, yoga studios, and at conferences. She continues to pursue her 300 hour training at AYC through various workshops.

In addition to practicing yoga, she runs an organic vegetable farm called Red Scout Farm in Black Mountain. Mary Carroll loves to travel, hike, cook, and spend time with her husband and two energetic sons. Embracing yoga is one way to find balance in our ever-busy lives, and she looks forward to sharing moments of focus, calm, and growth with each of you.

Mary Carroll is also available for private group sessions.
